Introducing Dr. Michelle L. Anderson

“You’ve been adjusted since you were how old?!?” A typical response when I tell people how long I’ve been a Chiropractic patient. I was three years old and suffering from terrible tonsillitis multiple times per year. The medical doctors would give me antibiotics to treat the tonsillitis, but the antibiotics would deplete all the good bacteria in my digestive tract and give me horrible diarrhea. Not an exciting experience for a three year old! This cycle was continuous. The medical doctors told my parents that if I got tonsillitis one more time that year, my tonsils were goners.

About the same time, my younger sister, Kristi, was born. At one week old, she had severe colic that prevented her from feeding, sleeping, and, well, just about anything except crying! My mom and dad decided to take Kristi to the chiropractor. After one adjustment, Kristi slept 10 hours straight ~ a miracle!

That was so successful that my parents took me to get adjusted. Another miracle: no more tonsillitis! From that point on, my family was hooked on the power of the chiropractic adjustment.

Growing up we went to the chiropractor frequently for regular spinal checks and adjustments. Whenever we were sick, we didn’t go to the pediatrician; we saw our family doctor, our chiropractor!

It was natural for me to pursue a career in chiropractic right after college, but that’s not what happened. Even though I had been a chiropractic patient my whole life, I had never considered chiropractic as a career option until three years after college. I had been pursuing other career options that weren't coming together. It was at this point when I finally realized there are a multitude of career options for me, including Chiropractic! I quickly researched the chiropractic schools in my area and started six months later at Life Chiropractic College West, where they have a variety of techniques and a solid chiropractic philosophy.

Helping people heal has always been a passion of mine. For me, Chiropractic is the perfect synergy of service and science. I graduated from Life West in 2006 and my training hasn’t stopped! I learn through daily interactions with my patients, as well as occasional seminars, and continuing education.

You will often hear me say that balance is important in life. When I'm not serving patients, I love spending time with my fiancé Vincent, and catching up with my friends and family. Recently, I completed the New Balance Half Ironman triathlon through Team In Training to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Besides swimming, biking, and running, I also frequently find myself outdoors hiking, camping and snowboarding.

Enough about me! We have put together this website to help you make your first step towards improved health. It’s simple; all you have to do is WANT the help we provide. I look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we may be of service to you. Give our office a call and we will arrange a time to explore your options.

Dr. Abrams Asks some important questions of interest to Seattle residents - Chiropractor Seattle Dr. Abrams Asks...

What is the significance of "growing pains?"
Chiropractors know that aches or pains at any age mean something's not right. In fact, many children go through stages of growth without aches or pains. So while "growing pains" may be common, they're not normal. That's why our Seattle chiropractic practice sees lots of children. A chiropractic checkup for your child can often help detect and correct problems that are more difficult to correct in Seattle adults.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Seattle chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
